  • Homework: Watch a short video on markets in English-speaking countries and note three cultural differences compared to markets in their own country.


Day 2: Practicing Listening and Speaking (1 Hour)

Objective: Practice listening for specific information and speaking about prices and quantities.

  • Activities:

    1. Review (10 min):
      • Discuss the cultural insights from the homework video.
    2. Listening Drill (20 min):
      • Play a dialogue of a customer and seller discussing prices.
      • Students answer questions about quantities and costs (How much are the apples? How many oranges does the customer buy?).
    3. Speaking Practice (30 min):
      • Pair work: Students take turns being the customer and the seller.
      • Example phrases:

      • Students answer comprehension questions (What is on the list? How many bananas are listed?).
