Forum: Food traditions in our communities
Activity 9 · 2%Your mission
Describe a food tradition of your community. When do people eat it? How do they make it?
- Write your post, then reply to at least two classmates with a genuine question or comment.
- Use the rule of the lesson and 2–3 words of your career.
- Cite the source you used (name and link).
- Choose one option: A · your career, or B · the Cultural Corner of your period (Winterlude (Bal de Neige)).
- Competency reached: 65/100 or more in the forum rubric (level 3 «Good» or 4 «Excellent»).
Model
In my town, families make nacatamales at Christmas. First, they prepare the dough. Then they add pork, rice and potatoes. Finally, they wrap them in banana leaves and boil them.
Your career in this forum
Write about your career (its exact name in the UNAH Oferta Académica). Choose the example of your area and change it:
- Health sciences: Use less salt and add more vegetables to make it healthier.
- Engineering & technology: Set the oven to 180 °C and the timer to 30 minutes.
- Business & economics: This recipe costs 5 dollars for four people.
- Education, humanities & communication: Read the recipe aloud, step by step.
- Environment, agriculture & tourism: Use local ingredients from the farmers' market.
Use 3 words of your career glossary.
Cultural connection · I PAC
Event of this week: Winterlude (Bal de Neige) (January 29 – February 15). See it in your I PAC Cultural Passport.
Your cultural mission: At Winterlude people eat BeaverTails or maple taffy. Find a recipe and explain it in 4 steps.
Mirror Honduras: In Honduras there is no snow. What is the coldest place in Honduras? (La Esperanza? Celaque?)
Include one comparison between Canada and Honduras: one similarity and one difference.
Be respectful: say «In my experience…» or «In my city…», not «All Americans…» or «All Hondurans…». Need ideas? Ask SofIA Cultural.
Your result, two ways
Your teacher decides which one the course uses. Pass mark: 65 %.
1 · Percentage (summative)
your rubric level (4 = 100, 3 = 75, 2 = 50, 1 = 25) × the weight of the activity.
Example: 70 % in this activity (2 %) = 1.4 % of your final grade.

- 0–39 N1 · not reached
- 40–54 N2 · partly reached
- 55–64 N3 · almost reached
- 65–79 N4 · competency reached
- 80–89 N5 · reached with distinction
- 90–94 N6 · excellence
