Unit project

Unit I video (2 min): guide a visitor on a safe route on campus or in your city. Show 3 signs and explain the rules.

Also include: 1 element of your career · 1 cultural comparison with Honduras about Black History Month (U.K.) · your Source card.

Builds on your earlier work

Reuse your map (Act. 3) and your directions (Act. 7).

Leads to

Unit II starts with your city (Act. 14).

Model

Script · Hello! Today I'm guiding you from the main gate to my lab. Go straight on. Look, this sign says NO RUNNING: you mustn't run here. Turn right. Here, you must wear a lab coat. This is my lab!

A model, not a template: your product is about you, your career and your own sources.

Learn before you do it

What a good product has

  1. Hello (10 seconds): greet and say your name and career.
  2. Body (most of the time): what the task asks for, using your earlier products.
  3. Career and culture (20 seconds): one detail of your career and one comparison with Honduras.
  4. Goodbye (10 seconds): a polite farewell.
  5. Speak, don't read: you can use notes, but look at the camera.

The language you need · Rules: can / can't / must / mustn't

You can = it's OK. You can't / mustn't = it's not OK. You must = it's necessary. Signs often use imperatives: Stop. Don't cross.

  • You mustn't use your phone when you drive.
  • You can cross at the zebra crossing.
  • Don't run in the station.

Need more? Review the URA and SofIA and the H5P class of this lesson.

Your career in this assignment

Write about your career (its exact name in the UNAH Oferta Académica). Choose the example of your area and change it:

  • Health sciences: In the hospital, you must wash your hands. You mustn't use your phone in this area.
  • Engineering & technology: In the lab, you must wear safety glasses.
  • Business & economics: Staff only: customers can't enter this area.
  • Education, humanities & communication: Quiet, please: you can't talk in the reading room.
  • Environment, agriculture & tourism: You mustn't leave rubbish in the park. You can walk on the path.

Use 3 words of your career glossary.

Cultural connection · III PAC

Event of this week: Black History Month (U.K.) (All of October). See it in your III PAC Cultural Passport.

Your cultural mission: Plan a safe walking tour about Black History in London. Write 3 safety rules for the group.

Mirror Honduras: The Garífuna people of Honduras have African roots. What do you know about their culture?

Include one comparison between the United Kingdom and Honduras: one similarity and one difference.

Be respectful: say «In my experience…» or «In my city…», not «All Americans…» or «All Hondurans…». Need ideas? Ask SofIA Cultural.

Tools and tutorials

Step by step

  1. Collect your earlier products (list above). Your video joins them.
  2. Write your script on your own (2 minutes). Use the model only as a guide.
  3. Ask SofIA for ideas or pronunciation tips, never for the script itself (AI level 1).
  4. Practice aloud 3 times. Check the «I can…» list below.
  5. Record and watch it once. Upload it to YouTube as Unlisted (see below).
  6. Submit on the UNAH Virtual Campus: the YouTube link + your script + Source card.

How to submit your product

Video · YouTube (Unlisted)

  1. Record with your phone or computer. Quiet place, good light, show your face. No personal data.
  2. Open the YouTube app or YouTube Studio and upload the video.
  3. Visibility: Unlisted (only people with the link can see it). Audience: No, it's not made for kids.
  4. Copy the link. On the UNAH Virtual Campus, open the assignment, click Add submission, paste the link and your script in the text box, and Save changes.

Sube el video a YouTube como «No listado» y pega el enlace en el Campus. No subas el video al Campus: son miles de estudiantes y el servidor se recarga.

Always add your Source card and, if you used SofIA, your prompt and the chat link. Check that every link opens in a private window before you submit.

Career program (transversal project)

Write 3 safety rules of your future workplace.

Add it to your career program file. It grows in every lesson.

Source card

Choose one official site of your area and search inside it for the page you need. Paste that exact page. Write: name of the site, link, country, type of site, why it is reliable and what you learned.

Ficha de fuente: en Inglés II eliges un sitio oficial de la lista y buscas dentro de él la página que usaste. Pega ese enlace exacto.

Total20 points = 6% of your final grade (Activity 11). 0 points if not submitted.

How your points become your grade: 20/20 pts = 6% · 15/20 pts = 4.5% · 10/20 pts = 3% · 5/20 pts = 1.5%.

Competency reached: 13/20 points (65/100) or more. Competency-based grading scale

Your result, two ways

Your teacher decides which one the course uses. Pass mark: 65 %.

1 · Percentage (summative)

your rubric points × 5 (20 points = 100) × the weight of the activity.
Example: 70 % in this activity (6 %) = 4.2 % of your final grade.

2 · Competency level

  • 0–39 N1 · not reached
  • 40–54 N2 · partly reached
  • 55–64 N3 · almost reached
  • 65–79 N4 · competency reached
  • 80–89 N5 · reached with distinction
  • 90–94 N6 · excellence
