Assignment: My First Interview: career-focused role-play video

Activity 44 · 6%
What you bring
From the H5P: the mistakes you corrected. Now you use the rule alone to create something that is yours.
What this prepares you for
Your final interview closes the A1 level of the CEFR. Keep your career program and glossary: they are your A1 portfolio and the starting point for A2.
Video3 minutesLevel 1 · AI only for ideasUnit project

Unit project

Unit IV video (3 min): a job interview role-play for your career. Answer 5 questions with present, past and future.

Also include: 1 element of your career · 1 cultural comparison with Honduras about Stanley Cup Playoffs (NHL) · your Source card.

Builds on your earlier work

Reuse your plans (Act. 36) and your CV (Act. 40).

Leads to

Your A1 portfolio is complete: career program, glossary, CV and interview. It is the starting point for A2.

Model

Script · Interviewer: Why do you want this job? · Me: Because I love working with children. · Interviewer: What did you do last year? · Me: I volunteered at a library. · Interviewer: Where do you see yourself in five years? · Me: I'm going to lead a team of nurses.

A model, not a template: your product is about you, your career and your own sources.

Learn before you do it

What a good product has

  1. Hello (10 seconds): greet and say your name and career.
  2. Body (most of the time): what the task asks for, using your earlier products.
  3. Career and culture (20 seconds): one detail of your career and one comparison with Honduras.
  4. Goodbye (10 seconds): a polite farewell.
  5. Speak, don't read: you can use notes, but look at the camera.

The language you need · Interview: present, past and future

Present: Tell me about yourself. Past: What did you do in your last job? Future: Where are you going to be in five years? Skills: What can you do?

  • Why do you want this job? — Because I love working with children.
  • I organized a science fair in 2025.
  • In five years I'm going to lead a team.

Your career in this assignment

Write about your career (its exact name in the UNAH Oferta Académica). Choose the example of your area and change it:

  • Health sciences: I did my practice at Hospital Escuela. I'm going to work in rural areas.
  • Engineering & technology: I developed an app for my class. I'm going to work as a software engineer.
  • Business & economics: I can analyze data. In five years I'm going to open my business.
  • Education, humanities & communication: I taught English to children. I'm going to be a teacher.
  • Environment, agriculture & tourism: I worked in a recycling campaign. I'm going to work for a national park.

Use 3 words of your career glossary.

Cultural connection · I PAC

Event of this week: Stanley Cup Playoffs (NHL) (Mid-April to June). See it in your I PAC Cultural Passport.

Your cultural mission: Watch a Stanley Cup post-game interview. Which questions do reporters ask? Use 2 in your interview practice.

Mirror Honduras: Which sport makes all of Honduras watch together?

Include one comparison between Canada and Honduras: one similarity and one difference.

Be respectful: say «In my experience…» or «In my city…», not «All Americans…» or «All Hondurans…». Need ideas? Ask SofIA Cultural.

Tools and tutorials

Step by step

  1. Collect your earlier products (list above). Your video joins them.
  2. Write your script on your own (3 minutes). Use the model only as a guide.
  3. Ask SofIA for ideas or pronunciation tips, never for the script itself (AI level 1).
  4. Practice aloud 3 times. Check the «I can…» list below.
  5. Record and watch it once. Upload it to YouTube as Unlisted (see below).
  6. Submit on the UNAH Virtual Campus: the YouTube link + your script + Source card.

How to submit your product

Video · YouTube (Unlisted)

  1. Record with your phone or computer. Quiet place, good light, show your face. No personal data.
  2. Open the YouTube app or YouTube Studio and upload the video.
  3. Visibility: Unlisted (only people with the link can see it). Audience: No, it's not made for kids.
  4. Copy the link. On the UNAH Virtual Campus, open the assignment, click Add submission, paste the link and your script in the text box, and Save changes.

Sube el video a YouTube como «No listado» y pega el enlace en el Campus. No subas el video al Campus: son miles de estudiantes y el servidor se recarga.

Always add your Source card and, if you used SofIA, your prompt and the chat link. Check that every link opens in a private window before you submit.

Career program (transversal project)

Final version of your career program: profile, subjects, goals and glossary.

Add it to your career program file. It grows in every lesson.

Source card

Find your own reliable source (official, professional or university site of Canada). These are examples. Write: name of the site, link, country, type of site, why it is reliable and what you learned.

Ficha de fuente: en Inglés III buscas tu propia fuente oficial (gobierno, asociación, universidad, museo) de Canadá. Escribe su nombre, enlace, país y tipo.

Total20 points = 6% of your final grade (Activity 44). 0 points if not submitted.

How your points become your grade: 20/20 pts = 6% · 15/20 pts = 4.5% · 10/20 pts = 3% · 5/20 pts = 1.5%.

Competency reached: 13/20 points (65/100) or more. Competency-based grading scale

2 · Competency level

  • 0–39 N1 · not reached
